Taskin Bakery

About

A 3,200 SF Midtown space transformed into a sculptural, light-filled bakery hall.

Located at 50 UN Plaza in Manhattan, Taskin Bakery is an interior buildout delivered by Atlas Supreme in partnership with Sour Studio, who led both the architecture and interior design. The space trades the conventional retail box for a procession of hand-sculpted plaster vaults — soaring, cathedral-like arches finished in seamless white — threaded by an undulating, high-gloss black ceiling ribbon that draws the eye the length of the room. Brass tube shelving, brass-topped service counters, and minimal glass pastry cases keep the palette warm and exacting, while a curved red-velvet banquette anchors a floor-to-ceiling window wall framing the trees beyond.

Atlas served as general contractor and self-performed the millwork, executing the project's most demanding details: the continuous curved plaster forms, the custom brass-and-wood counters, and the recessed lighting that washes each vault evenly. Working alongside Sour Studio and owner's representative Karacoban Engineering PC, Atlas coordinated the structural, mechanical, and finish scopes to realize an unusually complex geometry on budget — delivering a 3,200 SF flagship that reads more like a gallery than a bakery.
